urbancase is a seattle based furniture design and build firm. the company was
founded in 2002 by metal worker and sculptor darin montgomery. urbancase
produces simply constructed, well made furniture and lighting from their
workshop in the pacific northwest.

our design philosophy is to create objects that contribute to a simpler, pared
back lifestyle focusing on basic aesthetic elements and functionality. we make
informed decisions about the materials and methods we use in an attempt
to minimize the negative impact on the environment.

darin montgomery is a third generation craftsman from a small steel town
in colorado. aside from urbancase he also works on sculpture and has
an exhibition of interactive urns scheduled for 2008. one of his pieces,
the urn-a-matic, was recently shown in philadelphia and was featured in
the new york times. in addition, he has collaborated on public art installations as
well as restaurant, retail, and residential design projects.

urbancase will again be attending the international contemporary furniture fair in new york in may 2008. we will be introducing a new line to include collaborative pieces from rachel illingworth and catherine grisez.
